The Beyond Boarding’s Winter 2014 Film Tour, a film screening tour that aims to generate financial support for the education of impoverished children in Peru and to encourage response to environmental issues in British Columbia, is coming to North Vancouver.
On February 19, 2014 Beyond Boarding will be screening two documentaries - Northern Grease and Belen - at Capilano University.
This is a special event presented by EarthWorks, a lecture, film, and field trip series with an environmental stewardship and interdisciplinary flavour hosted by Capilano University. All events are free and open to students, staff, faculty, and the public.
The Beyond Boarding crew will also be hosting an after party at Narrows Pub, so bring your friends and come hang out for a couple pints and good times.
Northern Grease follows Tamo Campos, John Muirhead, Lewis Muirhead, Jasper Snow Rosen, Landon Yerex and Hannah Campbell as they travel in a vegetable oil fueled bus throughout British Columbia and Alberta.
The gang, on a mission to understand Canadian resource extraction projects, visit industrial towns, interview the people involved with and affected by resource extraction, and learn about some of the problems presented by practices like fracking and building transmission lines.
