Join us for A Bout to Change, an evening of philanthropy hosted by Boxing BC, in association with Boxing Canada. The event will feature world class female amateur boxers from across North America who believes that all women and children deserve a safe place to live.
About the Cause
Access to safe and accessible housing plays a critical role in enabling women and children to live free from violence and work towards long-term personal and economic independence. For this reason, Boxing BC is hosting this charity fundraiser to support three organizations committed to providing safe housing for women in the city. These organizations are YWCA Metro Vancouver, The Bloom Group and the Salvation Army. All proceeds raised will go towards their shelters and housing throughout Metro Vancouver.
The Bloom Group’s emergency response shelters, the recovery and restoration homes run by the Salvation Army and the long-term housing communities operated by the YWCA, are all essential services that allow women and children to lead safe and stable lives.
Throughout the evening, you will hear inspiring stories from women helped by the charities and learn how they have been able to build brighter futures for themselves and their families. At the same time, we will showcase the determination and talent of some of North America’s elite female boxers.
Our fundraising goal is $100,000 for each charity involved: $300,000 total.
